Kecipir (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus (L.) D.C.) adalah tumbuhan merambat polong mudanya dimanfaatkan sebagai sayuran. Kecipir berasal dari Indonesia bagian timur. Di Sumatera dikenal sebagai kacang botol atau kacang belingbing. Nama lainnya adalah jaat (bahasa Sunda), kelongkang (bahasa Bali), serta biraro (Ternate).
Tumbuhannya merambat, membentuk semak. Dalam budidaya biasanya diberi penyangga, namun jika dibiarkan akan menutupi permukaan tanah. Batangnya silindris, beruas-ruas, jarang mengayu. Daun majemuk dengan anak daun tiga berbentuk segitiga, panjang 7,0-8,5cm, pertulangan menyirip, letak berselang-seling, warna hijau. Bunganya tunggal, tipe kupu-kupu, tumbuh dari ketiak daun, kelopaknya biasanya berwarna biru pucat, dapat dipakai sebagai pewarna makanan. Buah tipe polong, memanjang, berbentuk segiempat dengan sudut beringgit, panjang sekitar 30cm, berwarna hijau waktu muda dan menjadi hitam dan kering bila tua. Bijinya bulat dengan diameter 8-10mm, berwarna coklat hingga hitam. Kandungan protein biji menyamai kedelai (30-39%)
Kecipir tergolong tumbuhan penutup tanah dan pupuk hijau efektif karena pertumbuhannya sangat cepat dan termasuk sebagai pengikat nitrogen dari udara yang paling baik. Dalam budidaya, tidak diperlukan sama sekali pemupukan N.
Secara fisiologi, kecipir sangat sensitif dengan frost. Selain itu, ia adalah tumbuhan hari pendek, hanya berbunga jika panjang hari kurang dari masa kritis (untuk kecipir 12 jam). Bijinya tertutup cangkang keras, sehingga kadang-kadang diperlukan perendaman untuk mempercepat perkecambahan.


Polong kecipir muda siap disayur.
Daun dan buah muda dijadikan sayuran, biasanya direbus atau dijadikan semacam sup. Daun juga berkhasiat sebagai obat radang anak telinga. Akarnya menggelembung, membentuk umbi yang dapat dimakan.
Biji dan daun mengandung flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin.
